Wehrle Family Session

I have been photographing the Wehrle Family for over 4 years now and I always look forward to the adventure we’re going to go on. For this session we headed out about 4 miles from their home, not 100% sure we were going to get to our destination. At one point the road turned to gravel and a construction “road closed ahead” was passed. Of course, we drove on.

Come to find out that the road construction had been completed but the signs still remained. We eventually arrived at the abandoned bridge, which had definitely seen better days. Some boards were missing and graffiti covered it, but that just adds to the character and grunginess of the location.

I always appreciate their adventurous side and feel these kids are living their best life…before you know it we’re climbing on the crossbars of the bridge and testing my motherly heart by stepping across missing boards. I’m here today, so you know we survived.

After the abandoned bridge location we headed back to their property, which host a variety of locations. The Wehrle’s own a tree service company in Edwardsville and have a host of lumber at their business, it made for a pretty epic backdrop to show the sheer size of some of these monstrous trees they’ve taken down. We finished up by the kids showing off their farm animals…probably my favorite part was petting the rooster and bunny! Always a blast, until next time!!
