Robert Schwalm ~ NCWHS ‘24

Proof that your Senior Session is going to be FUN—and if you’ve graduated, it’s not too late to book that session!!

A recent graduate of Normal Community West High School, Robert recently jetted off ✈️ to Sweden to study abroad (how cool is that?!) as part of the Bloomington-Normal Rotary Youth Exchange, focusing on Germanic Linguistics.

As a parent, once the school year starts, it feels like time speeds up, and suddenly it’s May—which seems like a blur! Robert contacted me at the start of summer to schedule his Senior Session, noting that he had already graduated. I’m familiar with this scenario, as many high school seniors choose to book later for various reasons. For some, it’s a busy fall sports schedule; for others, it’s simply easier to wait until all the school decisions are made and life calms down.

This was certainly the case for Robert, who was active in Scouting BSA, theater, orchestra, piano at Illinois Wesleyan University, and the Rotary Youth Exchange!

With his plans to study Germanic Linguistics, we chose Ewing Manor as the perfect spot for his Senior Spotlight Session. Ewing is one of my favorite locations for Bloomington, Illinois, Senior Sessions because it offers a variety of “looks” in one area—perfect for this 30-minute senior “mini” session.

Robert describes himself as funny, loud, loving to talk, and spontaneous—and I couldn’t agree more! He was up for all my ideas to create in-the-moment, fun photos, complete with box jumping and a heel kick! Take a peek for yourself:

Congrats Robert, I look forward for following your adventures!
