Social Media or Print?

A photograph is not a photograph until it is printed!

I heard this statement recently when listening to a podcast and it stopped me in my tracks. Like, I literally stopped cleaning the house and went to jot that thought down. Not only was this a powerful statement to me as a photographer, but as a person in general.

What happens if we never print those images?

What if social media platforms go away?

What if you have friends and family not on social media?

What is keeping you from bringing your family pictures to print?

I remember growing up and printing all the images I took on my 35mm camera. I loved flipping through those images to see what I had captured. I still have them, and when I randomly find them when going through boxes in the basement I sit down (for hours) and flip through them to relieve the memories.

I'm passionate about printing images because I know these are your legacy!

When I'm asked to donate to a silent auction, my gift certificates always include a print. So is the case with the Hall Family. They won a Teresa Klokkenga Photography family session with 16x20 print through the Trinity Lutheran Schools silent auction. I loved being able to create their family memories with an heirloom print for them to enjoy. Their session took place at the Watershed Nature Center in Edwardsville Illinois and highlighted the beautiful fall color and their family's love for the University of Kentucky!!
