Wehrle Family Photos

Another great family photo session with the Wehrle Family on their homes property just outside of Edwardsville Illinois. They have such a cute place and I feel like every year we get a whole new look to their family portraits.

And as usually, they are spot on with their Fall wardrobe. I’m all for a high low dress or skirt in a muted color with touches of denim and khaki for the rest of the family. It’s easy to pick one main color (they went with blue) and then coordinate everyone else with that same color, khaki, white, denim of black. It really is that easy!! Their session was at the start of the Fall Season, so the temperatures were warmer. As we dip later into September and October I suggest being prepared to layer up (or down when we get that Second Summer) for your photo session.

Here are my TL;DR tips:

  • Choose colors that won’t clash too much with the fall leaves. Instead, stick with one main neutral color that blends seamlessly into autumn’s spectrum: earthy reds, muted yellow, blues creamy nude, etc. Then bring the variety with everyone in a mixture of denim, black, off white and khaki.

  • Long flowy maxi dresses are a must!

  • Layer up! Don’t hesitate to throw on those cardigans, blazers, jean jacket or hats.

  • Wear shoes that fit the season. Think ankle boots—no open toe. Loafers and flats can also work perfectly for men.

If you get stuck, just message me. I’m happy to create a vision board for you of clothes that fit your style!
