Why Capture Newborn Portraits

From the moment you see your newborn child your life will be forever changed. The love for this tiny person will be more than you can even imagine. For the first time in your life you'll experience what it's like to see your heart beating outside of yourself, all instincts kick in and this will truly be one of the best days of your life.

So why have all this photographed? With each passing day I can personally tell you these little humans change so quickly. Before you know it they're one week old, you're blown away by this and hope time slows down soon. It will not. They'll start to put on weight, filling in those baby rolls, outgrow those adorable newborn clothes and slowly turn around their sleep cycles. 

Did I mention those baby rolls, what about long eyelashes, black hair, tiny toes, beautiful lips and button nose? Capturing these sweet moments is the best gift you can ever give to yourself. 

You will never regret stopping time in this moment with portraits. In fact, when you look back on them in one month you'll be surprised to see how much they have already changed in that short time. 

When you consider a newborn photographer, keep in mind they are handling your baby for 2-3 hours. Be sure she is trained in baby safety...here's where the cheapest is NEVER the best. I take baby safety very seriously, and never position baby in a way that can harm them or their precious joints. After attending multiple workshops for newborn posing I believe that baby should be photographed in natural positions and mom is always close by to nurse, feed and comfort baby during the entire session.
