Farlow Newborn Session

The Farlows welcomed Baby Sutton into the world in late June, and have been in love with her ever since. They are now a family of 4: mom, dad, big brother Locke and Sutton.

I came to know Elliot and Alanna in October of 2021 for their micro wedding in her parents back yard. It was a small ceremony in Bloomington, IL of less than 20 people followed by cake, a champagne toast and celebrating afterwards! In November of that same year they hosted a bigger reception to celebrate with all their family and friends at the The Old Rugged Barn in Towanda, IL (located 10 minutes from Bloomington Normal)…it was a blast.

I would describe both of them as “never met a stranger”, and since I describe myself the same way, we hit it off. Shortly after their wedding I was elated to find out they were expecting and I’d get to capture another great milestone in their story. Baby Sutton is amazing, I knew from the moment they placed her in my hands to photograph that she was going to be a dream baby for newborn photography.

The Farlows Newborn Session was at my studio in Downs, IL, which has a lifestyle vibe for relaxing family photos and an area setup for more wrapped and posed images too. The bonus of the studio is I have a section all devoted to wraps, bows, bonnets and props. So you have pick of all things newborn!!

Check out some of my favorites from their session:

I recommend scheduling your newborn session about 10-21 days after your predicted due date, and for Baby Sutton we photographed hers at 19 days. This was a great time because she’s adjusted her routine, has got the feeding down and everyone is a touch more relaxed.
